Playing it safe: Pink Pelekat.
5/01/2014
My dad's alumni had a reunion dinner for the first time since the 1980s. They are the pioneer batch of USM Medical School. The dinner was held at Royale Chulan Damansara. Before the event, I asked my dad if it was formal to which he said that it's casual. I wasn't really convinced, so I asked, "Baju kurung or blouse/skirt?" He asked me to wear a blouse and skirt which caught me by surprise because it didn't really make sense. So I thought to myself, let's wear something safe that can be both casual and dressy.
TA-DAA!
I had recently bought this pelekat tunic top from HiDY when I went shopping with Adlin the other day. And I already have a skirt to match! So just put it together and done! I can go out like this to hangout (although we all know that I wouldn't) or to a laid-back event. It's dressy enough.
What was really super funny was that at the hotel room, we realised that my dad's kain pelekat, the one that he uses to pray, matched my top! It was hilarious! If I wore them together, it would look like a baju kurung.
