It all started with our involvement in Persatuan Sukan Rekreasi Malaysia (PBS) - through PBS, we signed an MOU with ESM Pickters Club to introduce pickleball to our community. But playing once or twice a month wasn’t enough—I started getting obsessed with the game!
My love for hosting games and being quite the expert at booking courts naturally led me to organize more sessions. Meanwhile, Imran and Shukery noticed how other clubs were marking up their sessions significantly, and we all agreed that we wanted something different. Our goal? To create an inclusive, affordable, and safe space for people to play—whether you’re a beginner trying out the game or a regular looking to improve your skills.
Since then, Dink-182 has grown organically, and it’s been such a joy to see the community come together. Generally, all three of us play a key role in booking courts, hosting sessions, and setting the tone for a fun and welcoming environment.
I’ve also been working on collaborative opportunities for the club. Imran and I received clothing sponsorship from ViQ Apparel to create content for the brand. We collaborated with Courtsite to promote new pickleball courts to our growing community. I even had the chance to meet with the co-founder of Reclub and connect with other pickleball club founders.
While our primary mission is to introduce and grow pickleball in Malaysia, we also have a secret goal of building the Dink-182 brand to take the club to greater heights.
If you’ve been curious about pickleball or looking for a space to play, come join us at Dink-182! We’re here to share the fun, excitement, and sense of community that makes this sport so special.
