Because I see sparks fly whenever you smile.

Over the weekend, I was blessed to be able to attend the 10th MyBalloonFiesta in Putrajaya for two days in a row!

Saturday started dark and early for me as I was a MyBalloonClub member and had the chance to try out the tethered ride on the hot air balloon. And I wanted to enjoy the breakfast buffet spread under the gorgeous exclusive tent set up. Did I mention I had an all access pass as well?

What I should have done: Gotten my exclusive passes, attend the morning blast off of the balloons, have breakfast while enjoying live jazz music and end my morning with my own flight.

What I did: Gotten my exclusive passes, sat down and ate to my heart's content, consistently annoyed the event crews asking when can I get on the hot air balloon and bolted as soon as I landed because PANAS GILA WEYH! I was melting under the scorching hot sun although I was only there for 2 hours (and the sun was only up for one). To be honest, I think I took it for granted because I have been on the hot air balloon thrice now, and the first two times was in beautiful Cappadocia.

Oh, well. I had the evening to enjoy anyway. Mai and I changed clothes and had lunch before we headed back to the fiesta. We made it right on time for the parade where all the hot air balloons and their pilots were introduced and we got to witness the setting up of the hot air balloons. I was so happy to see Mai's excitement. Alhamdulillah, I have been blessed with this rizq three times! And it was Mai's joy that made me realise how lucky I have been.

So we spent 5 hours at the event which ended with us dancing and laughing. The crew and other fiesta goers were amazing and fun.


On Sunday, the Husband and I made our way to the fiesta where Najwan was waiting with our tickets. Earlier, we invited his sister's family to come along because we wanted to spend time with the kids. Sabrina thought to invite the whole family as it was a really fun set up for everyone to enjoy. We also surprised Khairul with a cake for his birthday!

The plan was to get everyone in the blue zone for the parade and set up. But all of us arrived when the balloons were already up. And since we went in separate cars, the Husband and I along with Lysa and Aryan were at the other end from where the family was. Since we had to walk to the other side, I quickly took our tickets from Najwan and got us four (including Aryan) to get into the blue zone and enjoy the short photo session before we went out to meet up with the family via an exit nearer to them.

After the cake session, the Husband and I accompanied Sabrina and the family to the mosque nearby. Sabrina saw the Putrajaya food truck area beside the mosque and decided to have dinner there after prayers. We did invite the others but they were too exhausted, so they headed to the mall instead. We had a short dinner and then ran back to the blue zone to enjoy the night session.

Last week, I was invited to attend the signing of the MOU between the production company of the film JIBAM which is an adaptation of the work of well-known cartoonist, Ujang and Cantik Dara which is a health and beauty production company. The signing of the MOU was done at the famed restaurant Rebung by Chef Ismail.

The film is directed by Che Mie with screenwriter Asmira Suhadis. Members of the cast include Esma Daniel, Fadlan Hazim, Mia Ahmad, Kamarool Yusof, Kazar, A. Galak, Zaidi Omar and Bohari Ohmad, with Mohd Arif Abdullah in the lead role.

At the event, actress Ruhainies was announced as the face of Cantik Dara.

I've been drafting and drafting for over two months now but nothing has been posted because I'm just so busy. If you don't follow me on Instagram, I have been flying from one city to the next and life is happening at a very fast pace at the moment.

InsyaAllah, I will finally settle down (read: get a job!) and I'll post on a regular basis again. But I have one more destination next month, sorry! I have so much to share about travels and graduating and getting a new nephew!

However, today is about what happened after my major Euro trip. I landed in Kuala Lumpur on Friday morning and it was already the third day of KLFW 2016!

The first time I used this scented tissues, I was overwhelmed with the Vanilla aroma. It reminded me of so many memories I had especially one that involves my family.

Every Ramadhan, my sister and I would help my mother bake a few different kuih Raya. This has been a tradition since I can remember. The house will be filled with the smell of almond, burnt cookies and Vanilla!

Another tradition of ours is the day before Eid at my grandmother’s place in Seremban, the women in the family will gather in the kitchen to cook and bake. My sister and I are always in charge of making crème caramel. The recipe we use is one that has been in the family for many many many years. And as my family is a pretty huge one, we have to make a few batches iof them. My grandmother’s house will always smell of Vanilla the night of Eid. am definitely glad that the Kleenex Vanilla Scented Tissues can rekindle memories of days filled with happiness and laughter.

This is the second year that Air Asia is hosting the Runway Ready Designer Search with KLFW RTW. It was just launched by Aireen Omar, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Berhad in JW Marriott, Kuala Lumpur today together with Andrew Tan of Andrews Models, Founder of KLFW.

Audition rounds will be held in Jakarta (16 April), Manila (23 April), Kuala Lumpur (30 April), Singapore (7 May) and Bangkok (14 May) to discover local talents from each regional city, and the Top 3 from the respective cities will represent their country during the Grand Finale in August on the prestigious KLFW RTW 2016 runway.

Both Aireen Omar and Andrew Tan will be part of the panel of judges for this year’s AARRDS 2016, with Vivy Yusof, my friend Alia Bastamam and Suzie Adnan, Editor-in-Chief of GLAM magazine.

I know. I know. I've been MIA even though I was on holidays! So terrible of me! But my Macbook hasn't been itself lately (it's super slow) so I've put off a lot of blogging and laptop related stuff.

Anyway, about a week ago, I was invited to Jovian Mandagie X Lazada: Spring/Summer 2016 Collection Fashion Show at Ruyi & Lyn, Bangsar Shopping Centre. The Jovian Mangadie ready-to-wear collection is exclusively available for customers from 21 January 2016 only on Lazada.

During my recent study week, I had the chance to work with aere x dUCK in the preparations for their debut at the inaugural Gaya Koleksi Raya, an event by ANDREWS MODELS which was held at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur with supporting sponsors; FashionValet, POH KONG, Laura Mercier, WELLA and Snips.

While I’ve worked backstage for fashion shows before, this was by far the biggest event I had the privilege to experience as it was for the much-anticipated collaboration. I must admit, I had so much fun being able to see and feel (and even tried on) the designs before everyone else.

Last week, I managed to squeeze in the time to attend Ariani Lebaran 2015. I actually arrived KL just on time before the event started at Mandarin Oriental KL (my favourite hotel). As I was from work (Ipoh), I wore a custom dress, the fabric was from Jakel which is also part of the same corporate group Ariani is under.

These past few days, I have been working. I work to learn. I work to earn. I just love work! So, on the first day, I attended Rizman Ruzaini's show in the middle of work. I said to my 'boss', I'll be back in 30 minutes. As soon as I arrived at the 3PM show, I felt super under-dressed. I was wearing a box-print top with stripes palazzo, paired with wedged ankle-boots looking ready for work. Lesson learnt. When attending a fashion show by Andrews Models, dress up. Especially if it's at Royale Chulan KL. (The venue says it all!)

Their lebaran collection is called AURORA, with muse Erra Fazira. Basically, they were inspired by the sky. I think you'll see that a lot of designers get inspiration from nature. The colours of their collection is very soft and soothing: it's modest even in its colours.

ZALORA unveiled an exclusive collection from Jovian Mandagie during a private showcase event at Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC Theatre). I was very excited for the show because I just couldn't guess what to expect. It's at the theatre. Surely, it is theatrical!

Jovian Mandagie for ZALORA, brought to you by Maybank, features 63 looks that incorporates the Art-Deco theme for Raya 2015. Yup. 63 looks! This year, Jovian teamed up with Luna Maya, the renowned stylish Indonesian actress to represent the collection.

It has been a long way since I was 9 and I cannot explain how wonderful the club is. I have joined and watched them do many charitable activities such as building an orphanage, conducting weekly Soup Kitchens along with free medical check-ups as well as many other projects for society. At the end of the post, I have attached the short history and function of the club taken from its former website.

When I received the invitation to #Nuffnang8irthday , I had a moment of panic. The dress code was The 60’s. And I had no idea what to wear. And since I had exams, I only thought about it the night before.

The 60’s fashion is a huge range: The little black dress with pearls made famous by Audrey Hepburn and shift dress ala Twiggy. There are also the midi flare skirts, capes and tweed jackets. Patterns that were famous then include plaid, stripes and polka dots.

Being a hijabi, I decided to go with the flare skirt and cape because it’s much easier to cover up that way. Unfortunately, the cape I wanted didn’t arrive on time. Instead, I hung the cardigan on my shoulders like a cape.

The past three weeks has been super hectic for me. The moment I landed home, there was no rest for me. Everyday, I had futsal practice and classes. The tournament IIUM Sports Carnival ended last night with my team, Mahallah Nusaibah, placing third. Alhamdulillah, after our hard-work, we improved from the last time by one placing.

I also had the most gut-wrenching presentation in PIL and (not so scary) in Usul Fiqh II. I was nervous especially for PIL because the text book we refer to is written by Prof. Ghafur, my lecturer. I was not as prepared as I should have been because when you leave for classes at 8AM and come back after futsal at 1AM, you tend to sleep instead of doing research.

But, of course, in between classes and futsal, I do everything else. Like last Saturday, I went to District 21 at IOI City Mall. Friday, I had an assessment with 1MDB. To be honest, this has been the busiest weeks of this semester but it doesn't seem like it's going to slow down.

Last Thursday, I was invited to SOFAT Graduation Fashion Show 2015 at Black Box, Publika by super talented graduating student, Ros Haziqqah.

It's no secret that I love art: music, theatre, dance, fashion, etc. So when Adlin waved free tickets to the concert in Istana Budaya, I was excited for a night out with the girls. I invited Nasyim along as he has never failed to invite me to any fashion or art events that he attends. Plus, I knew he'd enjoy the concert. He knew at least one song by every artist that performed that night.

Looking forward to the weekend? I'm not. I'm going to be locked up in my room, studying for finals. My first paper is on the 23rd and the last one is on the 11th of January. I'm scared. I haven't been studying like the kiasu student I truly am. 

Last weekend, I was busy with debate. And if you've been following my blog, you would have absolutely no idea that I debate. I have never thought about sharing about it because I'm not THAT good but recently, I have improved. I have improved a lot!

In White Borders & Chanel, I wrote about what I wore when I attended the Malam Pemasyhuran Presiden 2015 of Kelab Bakti Gunung Keledang.

During the dinner, the members would perform. Every year, they would also have a segment for their kids and their wives. And every year that I do attend the dinner, I would perform. Usually I would dance or sing or dance and sing. In 2011, I choreographed a tribute to MJ and performed with my ever-changing band with Ariff Arshad, Hadi, Zafiq and others. But since I'm all grown up, they have chucked me into the ladies group, as I sub for my mother. Lol.

This year, they wanted to stage a Hijab Style fashion show and the next thing you know, I'm on the list to walk on stage. This was backed by the fact that I had a 10-page spread in Hijab Fesyen magazine.

Two weeks ago, I was invited to FV's show at KL Fashion Weekend 2014 at the National Art Gallery. I was there, of course, to support the fashion scene, especially my SIL's new label: aere. It was her first showcase at a fashion show and I was really excited for her. She was joined together with dUCk,  Mimpi Kita, Alia Bastamam, Syaiful Baharim, Alia B, When Our Eyes Met and Haflins. Big names of the fashion industry.
