Firstly, I would like to wish all of you a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri Maaf Zahir & Batin. How was your Raya this year? I hope it was as good for you as it was for me.

As usual (and I say 'usual' because this is the FIFTH TIME we've done this), the Husband and I spent the Eve of Eid at Uncle & Ende Cho's place. The theme for the night was green and as per usual, we had the annual photo session on the grand staircase and one of the photos from the night was featured on Tatler Malaysia!

Since we practice taking turns for Eid celebration, this is the Husband's year. However, this was our first time spending the night before Eid at our own place and the experience of being the woman of the house is such a new one for me! I had the air conditioners fixed, every spot cleaned up and every outfit ready...sampai demam la time Raya! Hehe.

We were a bit late in getting to my in-laws place at Kg. Datuk Keramat (which really is just 5 minutes from our place) and had breakfast (read: brunch) before we had our photoshoot.

The Husband and I headed straight to Johor Bahru and was stuck in traffic through 3 states before we arrived at my grandmother's place after 6 hours on the road. And while we were there, we found out my brother, SIL and Faisal Ibrahim missed the last flight to Johor Bahru because their flight from Terengganu to KLIA was delayed. A very pregnant Ira and my brother were so heartbroken and exhausted from running to the gate which closed only a few minutes before while a very energetic Faisal (who didn't know what was going on) happily waved at the departing plane, "Bye bye airplane!"

And that was the unfortunate end of our first day of Eid 2018. Stay tuned to find out what happened next!

It's Ramadhan already and Eid is just around the corner! And of course, our MAJOR concern for the upcoming is Eid is if we will still fit into that custom made asymmetrical lace kurung we sent for tailoring by that major designer? I have so far gone to two fittings and I have yet to maintain my figure! Oh, the horror!

As you all know, I'm not the healthiest person out there. Having said that, I've always managed to maintain my weight and (sometimes) my figure. However, with age catching up, I find that my metabolism is really slowing down and I have since my wedding days, put on more than 10kg and I cannot fit into my designer pieces made to measure back when I was in my uni days!

Recently, I was introduced to Kerengga (which actually means giant red ant) which is a line of two products by MH Solutions: Kerengga Chocolate Shake and Poopoil Kerengga Chewable Tablet. Intended to be an additional supplement, it is said to help you lose weight by increasing your metabolism using natural ingredients.

The Kerengga Chocolate Shake tastes like Milo! It's so delicious! But the reality is, of course, you will not magically become skinny from consuming the chocolate shake!

Last Thursday, I had the opportunity to attend EMEL by Melinda Looi's My Chantilly Eid 2018 Fashion Show at what used to a British American Tobacco Malaysia factory. The walls were covered with graffiti art inspired by Melinda Looi herself and the lace motif of the collection and Renault cars were driven onto the runway for the celebrities' grand entrance.

“My Chantilly” is a colourful and very wearable collection of modern baju kurung inspired by the beauty of Chantilly lace. Emel, known for creating exclusive prints, has taken it one step further this year with lace-motif fabrics, giving the illusion of an exclusive and delicate lace textile.

The word EMEL is derived from the word amal which is Arabic for hope, expectation, and aspiration. In Malay, it means good deeds or charity. Each year EMEL brings awareness and raise funds for a charitable cause.

This year, the EMEL team has targeted to collect funds and food aid worth a minimum of RM60,000 to support two orphanages in Kedah for the entire year of 2019, o ensure the kids keep on track with their education. The orphanages - Pertubuhan Asuhan & Didikan Anak Yatim Miskin in Sg. Petani and Rumah Anak Yatim Nur Hidayah in Baling - jointly care for 62 children, and depend on public donations to survive.

The food and funds will be managed and distributed by CHARITY RIGHT, a charitable organization specialized in providing food aid to schools, refugee centers and orphanages. The objective is to keep the kids well nourished hence able to follow through on their education, giving them a chance to break out of the circle of poor education and poverty.
